Lessons and Resources to Better Understand Copyright and Preventing Plagiarism Online
Want to better understand copyright and fair use? Have you published an article and want it to be a chapter of your dissertation or thesis? Want to learn more about Creative Commons and asserting your own copyright? Need to verify your grant application or publication manuscript has been checked for plagiarism? Then attend this workshop!
This workshop will present helpful information and resources so that attendees can better understand copyright and how to use copyrighted works of others. Time will be set aside for attendees to learn more about Fair Use and how to ensure they are using the works of others correctly. Additionally, this workshop will present the iThenticate plagiarism prevention tool, which compares documents (including journal article manuscripts, proposals, research reports, thesis, and dissertations, etc.) against millions of published works available through the Internet and subscription databases.
