Responsible Conduct of Research: Day One Online

This is the first of three workshops in the Spring 2024 Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training series.  If you are a required attendee due to your role on an NIH training grant, you should already have been contacted and registered for all three days and do not need to re-register.   

Otherwise, please register for the training, or contact rcr-education@andrew.cmu.edu with any questions. You may also find helpful information at CMU's RCR website.

Day 1: Monday April 1, 9 am - 12:30 pm, all sessions online via Zoom.  

Sessions for this day include: Conflict of interest; Data confidentiality, management, sharing, and ownership; Data acquisition and analysis, laboratory tools, and recordkeeping practices; Research misconduct.

Day 2: Wednesday April 3, 9-12:45 pm, in person (The Den at Sorrells Library, Wean Hall).  Light breakfast will be provided.

Sessions for this day include: Collaborative research, including collaborations with industry and investigators and institutions in other countries; Policies regarding human subjects and live vertebrate animal subjects in research; Research security; Safe and inclusive research environments.

Day 3: Friday, April 5, 9-12:30pm, in person (The Den at Sorrells Library, Wean Hall). Light breakfast will be provided.

Sessions for this day include: Responsible authorship and peer review; Environmental health and safety; Scientist as a responsible member of society; Secure and ethical data use.
