Intro To ArcGIS Dashboard
In this 1.5-hour workshop, “Introduction to ArcGIS Dashboards” In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will explore how to design and build interactive dashboards using ArcGIS Online. The workshop offers a on-hands project to create data-driven dashboards for science communication. This workshop was designed to provide a foundation in web-based GIS visualization ( which is different from the Arcgis Pro). The session emphasizes developing essential skills in configuring data sources, choosing effective visual elements, and presenting geographic information in an accessible format.
Emphasizing the importance of spatial reasoning, this session will guide participants in interpreting spatial relationships and patterns within their data. By the end of the workshop, attendees will be equipped with the tools and mindset to apply ArcGIS Dashboards in analyzing and solving spatial problems, setting the stage for further exploration in the field of GIS.
This workshop is designed for beginners. You can download ArcGIS Pro at arcgis.com using instructions prepared by Heinz Computing under the heading “ESRI including ArcGIS Desktop”. To download and install, you need to have a Windows device or use a virtual desktop in Mac.
You can also Virtual Andrew (which has ArcGIS installed). Make sure you have enough room to download the data. Steps to access Virtual Andrew.
Please bring a laptop and have the software installed (or access to Virtual Andrew set up) prior to the workshop. If you are having trouble installing, you can make a Virtual or In-person appointment and we can help you. Note: We won’t be able to help you install it at the workshop so please plan ahead.
