Research With Community: Participatory Design for Researchers

In this workshop, we will introduce participants to the basic principles and practices of the participatory design research methodology. Participatory design is a collaborative design approach that involves end-users in the design process in order to leverage their knowledge and experiences to create a product or service that best meets their needs. Developing research projects with community members can be a humbling and rewarding experience; let’s talk about how we can make it easier at CMU.
