SUMMARY:Research Software Engineering: Preparing to (Vibe) Code
DESCRIPTION:This is the first in a series of workshops designed to teach 
 best practices for research software engineering to ensure reproducibility 
 and sustainability of code developed at CMU. \n\nAttendance at every 
 workshop session is not necessary.\n\nThis workshop’s goal is to equip 
 participants with knowledge of foundational software project management 
 best practices. Specifically participants will:\n\n\n	Formulate a concise 
 problem statement\, define project scope\, and identify necessary 
 documentation artifacts \n	Discuss how to use these pre-project planning 
 materials to set parameters when vibe coding with genAI\n	Apply Kanban 
 principles to project tasks and translate requirements into basic 
 architectural diagrams and UI mock-ups\n	Develop criteria for selecting 
 appropriate development tools and languages based on project 
 requirements\n\n\nNo coding experience is needed. If participants have a 
 project that they are working on\, we can use that throughout the workshop. 
 Otherwise\, example projects will be provided for participants to practice
