600 Years in the Shadow of the Dome

600 Years in the Shadow of the Dome

The latest exhibit in Hunt Library explores the physical and social environment of Florence, Italy’s Brunelleschi Dome while showcasing Florence and Pittsburgh’s shared urban roles and relationships.  “600 Years in the Shadow of the Dome” juxtaposes the Duomo with iconic Pittsburgh architecture such as the Allegheny Court House and US Steel Building, and includes reproductions of Giovan Battista Nelli’s acclaimed set of Duomo drawings from 1688. This exhibit was curated by University Libraries Principal Librarian and Architecture Archivist Martin Aurand and runs until March 26th.
