Data Visualization with R

Data Visualization with R Online

This event is a virtual example-driven workshop on basic skills for creating data visualizations in R. Short tutorials alternate with hands-on practical exercises, and participants are encouraged both to help one another, and to try applying what they have learned to their own research problems. Using the versatile ggplot2 package, students will produce plots, histograms, density distribution, and other useful visualizations to bring their data to life.

This lesson also requires basic familiarity with R and the RStudio environment. Participants are expected to have completed the Introduction to R mini prior to enrolling in this course, or to have an equivalent level of understanding of the material contained in that lesson.

This workshop will require software installations on your own computer before the workshop begins to ensure that the workshop runs smoothly. We anticipate this prep work will take you 10 to 30 minutes. The set-up instructions and Zoom link will be sent to you via a reminder email 24 hours prior to the workshop. Seating is limited so please only register for the workshop if you can commit to doing the prep work beforehand.
